Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)

The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the official compilation of permanent rules and regulations issued by federal agencies of the United States. In logistics and transportation, the CFR governs critical areas such as hazardous materials handling, customs procedures, vehicle safety standards, export controls, and carrier operations. Compliance with CFR requirements is mandatory for companies operating within the U.S. or shipping goods to and from the country. Non-compliance can result in fines, shipment delays, seizure of goods, or legal penalties. The CFR is organized into multiple titles, each covering a specific regulatory area, and is updated regularly to reflect changes in federal law and policy.
