Commerce Country Chart

The Commerce Country Chart is a regulatory tool issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce to help exporters determine whether an export license is required for a specific destination country. It is used together with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) of a product. The chart lists countries and identifies applicable control reasons, such as national security, missile technology, or anti-terrorism controls. By cross-referencing the ECCN with the Commerce Country Chart, exporters can assess licensing obligations and ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws. Proper use of the chart helps prevent violations, fines, and shipment delays.
