  1. The number of feet that the ship’s hull is beneath the water’s surface.
  2. Commonly known as a bill of exchange. It is an unconditional order in writing, signed by a drawer (a buyer) and addressed to a drawee (a bank). It requires the drawee to pay a specified sum in lawful currency to the order of a specified person (a seller) at a fixed or determinable date.
