Section 301 Tariffs

Under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) files a Special 301 Report annually, identifying “Priority Foreign Countries” with inadequate intellectual property laws or violating trade agreements. The President of the U.S. may subject these countries to sanctions or tariffs.
