Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI)

A document provided by a shipper or exporter to their freight forwarder outlining transportation and documentation instructions. If the freight forwarder is filing through the Automated Export System (AES) on behalf of the exporter, the SLI includes the information they need to complete the filing.
