United States-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA)

A bilateral free trade agreement between the United States and Peru entered into force in February 2009. It eliminates obstacles to trade, consolidates access to goods and services, and fosters private investment in and between the United States and Peru. In addition to commerce, the agreement includes provisions related to intellectual property rights, labor, and environmental policies.
